Getting Started

Step1:

Come down and meet us, watch a class, and ask questions.  Class times are posted on our web site.

When you come into the school we will sit down and talk about your training objectives.  Many people are interested in the fitness and technical aspects of BJJ and not competition.  Other people are interested in training to compete.  The majority of people change training objectives frequently over their life time so don’t be surprised if your training objectives change over the years.

Step 2:

Determining your initial training objectives.

Training Track- if you’re new to martial arts or need to get back into great shape than the initial focus of your training will be fitness and technical growth.  As your confidence and physical ability grows you can start to explore sparing and rolling.  Over time a calm confidence begins to take shape and many BJJ students start thinking about competing.  Competition is not for everyone and many students never enter competition.

Competition Track - for those who intend to compete we are building a team training program to help you excel in competition. To enter the team training program you have to be physical ready and demonstrate proficiency in BJJ.

Take a free class and meet the students of FDBJJ
